House Bill Number 3, if passed, would amend Chapter 152 of the Tax Code. This Chapter addresses the use of revenue from taxes on the rental, sale, and overall use of motor vehicles. If H.B. 3 is passed, it will be enacted in 2016. The bill would also create a committee composed of members of the House of Representatives and Senators to make recommendations about the content of the Economic Stabilization Fund. There is no projected fiscal implication to local governments of any real numerical significance.
