Millions of dollars in Texas financial aid is about to be distributed to support ongoing and new in-state mental health organizations and programs. The Texas Legislature just gave it’s approval on a 298 million increase in funding. This money will assist various state hospitals, community services, and crisis services. There will also be a distribution of 24.5 million dollars in grant money, given as 19 separate grants. “The funds we appropriated will help us eliminate waiting lists for community mental health services, increase services for veterans, address homelessness related to mental health issues, expand access to crisis services, and improve patient safety at our state hospitals.”
