Lara Keel Texas News for Lobbyists: Attorney General Abbott Addresses Texas Association of Mexican American Chambers of Commerce’s Annual Convention

Earlier this month, Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott met with Hispanic Business owners and South Texas Legislators in Houston for the “Texas Association of Mexican American Chambers of Commerce” awards banquet. The banquet was held at the annual Convention and Business Expo. Attorney General Abbott publicly recognized the importance and impact of Hispanic businesses in Texas. Greg Abbott also made a point to recognize TAMACC’s years of service in the Hispanic community.

TAMACC was first founded in 1975 by a group of Hispanic business owners who wanted to work towards increasing business and opportunity. Currently, they have over 15,000 members and are located in Austin. TAMACC advocates for over 500,000 Hispanic businesses in Texas. Attorney General Abbott is stated as saying:

“Together, we will live up to the ideal that every person of any background has a chance to succeed in Texas – not because of their zip code, their heritage or their family history – but because we live in a Texas that promises opportunity for all.”
