House Bill No. 1122 is aiming to allow Dallas Independent School District to create a pilot program where students are able to earn a High School degree in an estimated three years. Interestingly, the bill would take the costs of the fourth year of education, and use them to a fund a full day pre-kindergarten program. This provides a cost effective way to help high school students graduate by condensing their education, and to provide more state funded pre-school programs without breaking the bank. Costs are not estimated to be fiscally significant.
